Your Local Vet is a mobile veterinary care service dedicated to bringing comprehensive vet care to the comfort of your home. We also have a unique business model in that we offer an additional subscription service (read more below) to allow expedited animal care and 24/7 contact with Dr. Leon.
Whether it be a sick pet or livestock animal, a routine health appointment, or a health certificate, a surgery or a vaccination; we are happy to address all of your animal needs. We work on all species with the exception of horses and donkeys; with a focus on cats, dogs, cattle, small ruminants, rabbits, and pigs.
How the subscription works
Our business is a new concept in veterinary medicine to try to better integrate the preferences of our clients to have quality and expedient vet care, with the limiting realities of the animal care world. We offer our clients the option to be part of our subscription service as part of their animal treatment plan. A veterinarian being available 24/7 is a needed reality for a variety of animal care needs including livestock care, birthing emergencies, chronic diseases, and end of life decisions. Whether you have a single cat with diabetes or 50 goats getting ready to give birth; you may feel the need for a veterinary consult or care on short notice. The problem is that a veterinarian can only do so much in a day and only respond to so many client communications. In order to better facilitate expedient care and communication, we need to build open more flex time into our schedule. The problem is that this increases the potential of having slower business days, limiting our revenue potential. Instead of having to charge much higher prices and/or not be able to serve as many clients, we decided to take a different approach with a subscription service. The monthly fee that you pay to subscribe helps our business to be able to have a more stable revenue stream so that we can take on the business risk of starting every day with room in the schedule to address same day animal care needs, and also keep costs fair to do so.
Subscriptions can only be started once you have been established as a client.
What if I chose not to subscribe?
We are happy to provide quality services to all of our clients as best we can. We understand if you chose not to subscribe and we still value your business. You will simply need to schedule appointments through our office and will not have direct contact with Dr. Leon 24/7 for emergencies and animal care questions. We are still committed to offering you quality care and our full services, but essentially we cannot provide emergency care response and the convenience of direct communication with Dr. Leon.
